  • Handmade Journals and Sketchbooks

Look what we have coming into the store this week:  handmade 100% recycled cotton paper journals and sketchbooks, leather bound, made by marginalized women in Northern India.  The patterns are sophisticated and gorgeous -- these make perfect gifts!

  • More Wonderful Things

Here's a peek at some of the things we'll have at our sales this holiday season.  Take a look at our Events Page for dates, times and locations!

  • New Crafts Coming to Our Store!

We're really excited about some of the new crafts coming to our store in the next couple of weeks.  Take a look at these beautiful "two-tone" scarves!  They are actually two soft, handwoven cotton scarves, with complementary colors, sewn together.  Notice how delicious the colors are.

They are woven under fair trade conditions in Thailand.  I know I can't wait to wrap one around my neck -- the colors and the softness will make me happy.  That's what color and texture do, for me anyway!

  • Happy Diwali

Diwali is a Hindu festival of lights, held in the period October to November. It is particularly associated with Lakshmi, the goddess of prosperity.  Thousands of oil lamps and other lights are lit during this time, so it is, like so many other Hindu festivals, very beautiful.  Here is a photo, from the website mydestination.com, of an arrangement of Diwali lanterns and floor decorations called rangoli, which are made with colored powders.  Breathtaking!
